Hinduja TMT ('HTMT') bags Call Centre Business

HTMT has bagged a three year call center contract from a US$ 2 Billion telecom company, which is an integrated communications provider of quality, low cost and high-value telecommunications products and services across US and around the world. Revenue from the contract could exceed Rs. 300 crores during the period of the contract.

To start with, HTMT would service in-bound calls from potential customers of the US company with an initial capacity of 180 seats and over 360 call service representatives (CSRs), which is proposed to be increased and upgraded in a phased manner to 540 seats and over 1000 CSRs during the contract period.

This call center order would be executed from HTMT's new state-of-the-art offshore development center called 'HTMT House' at Bangalore. The center, at present, has the capacity to offer over 600 seats for Call center operations.HTMT, pursuant to the recommendations of Accenture, has made, inter-alia, Business Process Outsourcing (also known as IT Enabled Services) as its thrust area in its new IT business model.

The company has set itself an ambitious target of setting up 2,000/3,000 seats in 2/3 years and to emerge as a significant player in such business. HTMT has already established a good name in executing IT Enabled Services as it has been successfully operating the claim processing business for a Fortune-50 US company by meeting their stringent quality standards.

As per the latest report by US-based Stevens International, "India`s exports of IT-enabled services to North America is expected to grow over 15 times in the next five years. From the current level of US$264 million, the exports are expected to touch US$ 4 billion mark by 2005". With all its experience and focus, HTMT is well poised to exploit this opportunity says Mr. S. Solomon Raj, Vice Chairman.
